Life in Technicolor II

The 2 minute and 30 second track "Life in Technicolor" on Colplay's most recent CD was just meant to be a filler. But it's a killer track... even without lyrics. It has this amazing and moving sound. I listened to this track on loop more than any other on the CD.

ANYWAY Coldplay have re-released this track as a full song with lyrics and all.
They've called it "Life in Technicolor II", and it comes complete with awesome puppet videoclip.

I love this new track. Watch the clip:

Love this to death, and all his friends.

I may have rushed the list a bit, but its the jist of my favourites of 08.
Another post after results are in on Australia Day :)

Back to Microsoft

My Uni holidays aren't over yet, but i have started work for MS again.

They've got me working at Dick Smith, Southland. Thursday - Sunday each week.

If you're in Southland come down and say Hi. We can talk about Vista.
Seriously, we can sit down and talk about how awesome Vista is, all it's new features, reminisce about our experiences with it so far and then participate in mutual suicide :)

I joke, I love my job but the word Vista has lost all meaning. Literally.

Vista-hol. For those frustrating moments.
Dont fire me :)

Just bought tickets for Future

Last year I posted about Future Music Festival 2009's amazing lineup. I just bought my ticket 5 minutes ago.. $105 for future music happiness with undoubtably one of the best lineups this year.

Of all acts these are the ones I'm MOST looking forward to:
  • LIFELIKE
  • Mr. Oizo
  • Basement Jaxx
  • N.E.R.D
  • Etienne De Crecy
It should be good :)

Best of 2008

New Years has gone past, we've finally got internets at our new house and that also means I can finally post my 'best of' year in review.  I'll try to keep it short but thats probably not going to happen. I usually have a lot to say.

Best Movie:
A lot of you probably know my answer to this one. I actually just got this movie on Blu Ray - well not me.. my dad picked up up. Either way it's just an amazing movie. For those of you who still don't know, I'm talking about The Dark Knight. This movie is absolute awesomesauce. Actors, stunts, storyline - this Batman had it perfect.

Best Actor/Actress:
This one was a hard one. I watch a lot more TV than movies and one of my favorite shows this year was Dexter. In its third season the show is still going strong and Michael C. Hall is the perfect combination between a loving husband/father and psychotic throat cutting evil son of a bitch serial killer. 381 bodies and counting.

Best Writer/Director:
Last year I saw 'No Country for Old men' without knowing what it was, and loved it. This year I saw 'Burn After Reading' without knowing what it was, and loved it even more. There's two things these movies had in common - 1. I knew very little about them before seeing them and 2. They we're both written/directed by The Coen Brothers. Their next movie 'A Serious Man' is planned for release in 2009. This time I'll look out for it.

Best Song:
If you we're around me a lot in 2008 you should be able to answer this for me. I missed out tickets to their concert but MGMT - Electric Feel is hands down my favorite song of 2008.

Best Band/Artist:
I'm not going to write too much here because the answer is the same as the one above. MGMT we're my favorite band of 2008. Close runner ups we're PNAU with their self titled album. PNAU should've won the electronic ARIA, not the presets.

Best Album:
Look, MGMT are an awesome band - but in my opinion their album 'Oracular Spectacular' just fell short of Mr. Oizo's new album 'Lamb's Anger'. Oizo's sound is weird and unique and each song on the album is twisted and awesome in it's own special way. Can't wait to see him at Future Music Festival 09. Hot Chip's album 'Made in the Dark' also just fell short in this category.

Best TV Show:
This was a huge toss up between 'Dexter' and 'How I Met Your Mother'. They're both into their third season except I just started watching 'How I Met your Mother' this year. Ah screw it, I like Dexter better. And no, Gossip Girl wasn't even considered - it's shit.

Best Game:
2008 was a really good year for games. So good that I have to make a list of nominees. And they are: WOTLK, Fallout 3, GTA IV, Left 4 Dead, Castle Crashers, Mirror's Edge, World of Goo. I'm sure MGS4 would've also be a nominee (in it probably would have been the winner) but I haven't even played it yet. It was hard to chose but the one I had most fun with was the amazing GTA IV. If you haven't played it yet, wow.

Best TV Commercial:
This commercial isn't Australian, but it did supposedly feature on television. Either way, its bloody hilarious and very artistic.. in a porno perverted kind of way. The commercial is advertising Diesel's XXX Party. It features scenes from 1980's porno's cleverly edited to be work safe (kind of). Watch it on Youtube HERE. Only 55,000 views? Really?

Best Youtube Video:
"I need some things from the grocery, do things alone now mostly. Left me heart-broken not looking for love, surprise in my eyes when I looked above. The check-out counter and I saw her face, my heart stood still so did time and space. Never though that I could feel real again, but the look in her eyes said 'I need a friend'. She turned to me, that's when she said it. Looked me dead in the face and asked "Cash or Credit", and I Jizz In My Pants". If you don't know what that was then check out the video HERE.. and check it now. You'll love it.

Best News:
The best news of 2008? Thats a hard one. We'll for me personally... The best news of 2008 was the fact that we've finally moved into our new house (after years waiting), I bought my first car, everyone in the family is in good health and that I'm still alive regardless of my dangerous life working for Microsoft and studying IT/Business. My dangerous, dangerous life.

Onto 2009...
